Gratitude Sunday – September 7, 2014

For almost five years, I have lived 2000 miles away from my children and grandchildren.  While I love spending this season of my life in Florida with Hubby, I miss the times our family came together to support one another.

Yesterday was one of those times.  It was the first soccer game of the season for our youngest granddaughter, Cupcake.

I am grateful to her cousin, CJ, our family’s “soccer superstar,” and the other family members who came out to support Cupcake.

Also, I am grateful to my son (Cupcake’s father) and youngest daughter (CJs mother) for the photos and their blow-by-blow report on the game.  Cupcake scored a goal, WHOOPEE!!

  1. I’m so glad that you got to participate in the game remotely, second best to being there! I sometimes give my son (who is in India) blow by blow reports of the Seahawks games. (I’ve never had interest in football, but that changed last year as we moved towards the SuperBowl!)

BTW…. Sreejit wrote a reply to the article you wrote for his prompt. It is still in moderation so must be lost in your notifications somewhere!

    • Karuna — though we have lived in several states, we consider Wisconsin as our home state. I am not a fan of football, but Hubby is addicted to the game plus any other known sport. Was I ever surprised when I asked if he was disappointed with the Green Bay lost, given that he has been a long-time Packer fan. But, he responded, “Heck no, I was rooting for Seattle and Russell Wilson.” Further discussion led to how proud he was that Russell Wilson was a graduate of UW-Madison where we attended as well as our three children. And, most recently our youngest grandson who started his freshmen year this fail. I enjoyed Sreejit’s photos of their kitchen. My world expands through blogging.

  3. This is so wonderful. I do not have children of my own so my nieces and nephews’ children are my grandchildren. I love hearing about their accomplishments and love those reports so much. Isn’t it wonderful when you receive reports such as this.

    • Even though, I have children — the time spent with my nieces and nephews over the years are treasured memories. In an upcoming post I will write about my Stayvacation when nieces and grandnieces visited with us in Orlando this past summer. In the presence of children — I glow with happiness. Sorry for the delay and thank you for reading my post.
